I am disoriented by console fps controlls. The first time I tried was goldeneye for n64. I ended up bumping against a corner, looking at the ceiling and spinning in a circle while my friends shot me. I have gotten much better, and 2 stick fps' have become the norm for console games, but I will never forget that time. At it's root, the controlls are unintuitive. One of the sticks indicates a look at vector velocity, and the other represents a position velocity relative to the look at vector. Everyone who tries Halo for the first time has this learning experience, although most are probably better prepared for it than my 7 year old self.
