The Clarke family stood divided. When the end of an iteration came, the leadership handed out one token per person on board the station. The tokens came in 2 types, one for each of the newly created stations. Noone could cross the border between stations unless they had arranged a trade of tokens with someone on the other side. Some tokens were traded dozens of times, as the process of division generally took a few years. The Clarke family couldn't decide which side it belonged to. They had young children, so they wanted to choose the best environment, as the stations would never meet again. #Notes: Those years consist of gradually closing passageways and sealing maintinance paths until the only passage between the two is by shuttle. High command would maintain the last double-sided airlock for time critical troop manuvering, and it would become the final home for the old commander. The months before the end of an iteration were often those of political strife, as opposing political parties vyed for command of a station. Stations rarely ventured near one another, and the close contact of the two new stations, coupled with residual political animosity often led to immidiate combat upon seperation.
