When the alarm sounded nearly 3 days ago, everyone knew what to do. A rigid set of protocols were deployed along with the alarm. The computer had already played through the endgame, and they got hit. Course correction by mass ejection, evasive manuvering, balistic countermeasures, it hadnt been enough to save them from the angry swarm of projectiles screaming toward them at near light speed. What the computer had come up with would land them a glancing blow, but nothing more. In order to survive, they would need to piroette through space, shoot down a projectile, and push their engines to the very limit against their inertia and hope to lose as little as 50% of their mass and 90% of their crew.
